Ten years ago, my colleague Siri Carpenter and I decided to formalize the weekly discussions we’d have about stories we admired and what made them so good. Our effort blossomed into The Open Notebook, a non-profit publication dedicated to the craft of science journalism. TON stories cover all aspects of the craft of science journalism, fellowships for early-career science writers, thanks to the Burroughs-Wellcome Fund, plus a large database of successful magazine pitch letters, and much, much more.
Visit, enjoy, immerse yourself in craft. Follow @open_notebook on Twitter or like us on Facebook. If you really want to make our day, you can also contribute to The Open Notebook’s tip jar, which will help us continue to help journalists hone their craft.
